How a run works

You don't place towers on a map. The mech sits at the bottom of one lane and never moves. What it fights with is decided between waves, three cards at a time, so every run builds a different machine.

  • One lane, no retreat

Robot enemies come down one lane toward your mech, wave after wave. Bosses keep no schedule, change the rules of the fight and can arrive while you're still building.

  • Three cards, one pick

Between waves you draft new tech: a turret for an empty mount, a damage boost that costs fire rate, an elite card that rewrites a weapon. Spend a die to reroll the offer.

  • Stars and chests

Surviving is only the start. The cleaner you hold the line, the more stars you earn, and stars pay out in chests.

What you're looking at

The mech holds the bottom of the lane while robot waves push down from the top. Cards drop in between waves, turrets bolt onto empty mounts, and bosses crash the party whenever they like.

If you like tower defense, roguelike deckbuilders, idle games, sci-fi survival or dieselpunk mechs, Mecha Fortress sits where those overlap.

Arsenal

Turrets you draft mid-battle, a main gun for the mech itself (the Heavy Cannon, the Pyroblast, the Voidpiercer and others), and damage in elements like Fire, Electric, Toxic and Void. Here is a first look. The rest of the arsenal unlocks as you push on.

  • Autogun

    Rapid fire

  • Rocket

    Explodes and sets targets burning

  • Acid Spitter

    Slows enemies

  • Tesla Coil

    Arcs chain between enemies

  • Stormcaller

    Area lightning, paralyze

  • And more

Build the machine

Mechs and main guns
Pick your mech's main gun, from the Heavy Cannon to the Pyroblast, and unlock more weapons as you go. Every other turret arrives mid-fight, one card at a time, from the loadout you brought.
Pilots and gems
Recruit pilots, each tied to an element. Gems socket into your pilot's equipment and shift what the machine is good at.
Elements and resistances
Damage comes in elements, Fire, Electric, Toxic and Void among them. Enemies resist them differently, so the build that melted the last fight can stall on the next.
Technology tree
Between runs you upgrade a technology tree that unlocks as your mech levels.
Artifacts
Artifacts turn up in pieces: a trench lighter, a plague mask, a chess king, a lucky paw. Junk somebody died carrying. Complete one and it works forever without taking a slot. Feed it shards and it gets stronger.

The Devourer, a daily boss

One boss, one day to break it. Everyone who fights it lands on the same leaderboard, ranked by shield layers torn off. The modifiers change at midnight, and so does the answer. After each attempt you keep a Deploy Card for the next run, and they stack.

The Devourer: a huge armored machine with a glowing red core
  • Hard mode

For when the campaign stops scaring you. Tougher fights for pilots who want them.

  • The Insect Hive

A descent with its own rules. Keep your nerve floor after floor to bank a win, because one bad floor costs you.

  • Seasonal events

Limited events with their own boards and reward tracks.

  • Bestiary

Pays out for every enemy type you learn to kill.

Offline, still working

Your base keeps working while the game is closed. Mines and generators fill up offline, and patrols bring in resources while you're away. Auto battle and auto advance run the fight for you when you'd rather watch than tap.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about Mecha Fortress. Something missing? Ask support.

What is Mecha Fortress?

Mecha Fortress is a free mobile tower defense game where your tower is a war mech. It sits at the bottom of a single lane and never moves, and between waves you draft its turrets and upgrades from three cards at a time. It's an idle tower defense with a roguelike draft, made by NOXGAMES for Android and iOS.

Is Mecha Fortress free to play?

Yes. The full tower defense campaign is free on Google Play and the App Store. The game has optional in-app purchases and ads.

Is Mecha Fortress on iPhone and Android?

Yes. It's on Google Play for Android phones and tablets, and on the App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 15 or later.

How is it different from other tower defense games?

You don't place towers on a map. Your mech is the tower, and its turrets arrive as cards you draft mid-battle, so every run builds a different machine. Element matchups and draft order matter more than placement.

Does Mecha Fortress work offline?

Your base keeps producing while the game is closed: mines, generators and patrols gather resources offline, and it's waiting when you come back. Auto battle and auto advance can also run fights for you.

Is there real strategy in it?

Draft order, element matchups and upgrade priority decide whether you survive. Enemies resist damage elements differently, so a build that works in one fight can stall in the next.

What is the Devourer?

The Devourer is the daily boss challenge. Everyone fights the same boss for one day and lands on a shared leaderboard ranked by how many shield layers they tore off. Modifiers change at midnight. After each attempt you keep a Deploy Card that carries into your next run.

Which turrets can I get?

Draftable turrets include the Autogun, Rocket, Acid Spitter, Tesla Coil and Stormcaller, and more of the arsenal unlocks as you push on. The mech's own main gun, such as the Heavy Cannon or the Pyroblast, is picked separately.

Does the game run out of content?

No. The campaign starts in the Wastelands and keeps opening new fronts as you push on. Hard mode, the Insect Hive, seasonal events and the daily Devourer keep going after that.

What age rating does Mecha Fortress have?

Google Play rates it Everyone. The App Store rates it 9+.

How long is a run?

A stage fits in a coffee break. With auto battle on, the game can play stages for you.

Who makes Mecha Fortress?

Mecha Fortress is developed and published by NOXGAMES s.r.o., an independent mobile game studio. It launched on the App Store on October 2, 2025.
